Why I Love Salmon Chaffle

Salmon chaffle is the perfect quick and easy dinner. You can have a hearty filling meal with just a few ingredients and less than 20 minutes. Mix it up using dill or other spices instead of "everything but the bagel" seasoning.

This post will cover the ins and outs of chaffle, as well as best practices.

Why You'll Want To Make Salmon Chaffle

Before I go too far, I'd like to give some background on chaffle. Chaffle is essentially a cheese waffle, mix cheese, egg, and seasoning together, and put into a waffle maker and you have a chaffle. There are many varieties of chaffle out there - simply google "chaffle recipe" and you'll find all kinds. From sweet to savory, there is something for everyone.

Secondly, I'd like to mention chaffle toppings - I usually go with cream cheese, but a maple syrup or nut butter topping could also work on sweeter chaffles. Finally, chaffles are a low-carb way to get the "bread" feeling without the carb count. If you are low-carb eating, check out chaffles.

The first thing I do when I want to make chaffle is to know my measurements - 1 egg to each 1/2 cup of cheese is a good mix! I mix my ingredients and cook for a few minutes. After the chaffle is crispy, I'll top it with cream cheese, more seasoning, and my smoked salmon.

Tips For Making A Great Chaffle

The size of your waffle maker doesn't matter. I like my small one - it doesn't take up much space, and I can make these chaffles quickly.

A few tips to get you started:

  • Place a silicone baking mat under your waffle maker - this will help with any spills or overflow you may have

  • Spray your waffle iron - this is essential for an easy chaffle release

  • Use a fork to remove your chaffle from the waffle iron

  • Enjoy quickly after making - I never let mine sit for more than 10 minutes, I like them fresh, hot, and crispy!

  • Time your first chaffle so you will know how long it takes in your waffle maker

That's all the time I have for today, share how you will make your chaffle on Instagram!
