Text: Golden Hour Mocktail with a photo of yellow mocktail

Why I Love This Golden Hour Mocktail

After a long work week, I want to relax with a refreshing drink. My golden hour mocktail features Your Superfoods and helps me wind down. This drink is easy to make, only taking 6 ingredients and a blender!

I'm sure when you try the mocktail, you will enjoy it too!

Benefits Of The Golden Hour Mocktail

Using YourSuperfoods Golden Mellow mix adds amazing benefits to this mocktail! Tumeric, ashwagandha, ginger, cinnamon, lucuma, and pepper are powerful ingredients that combine into 1 super mix. Golden mellow has spice from the ginger, and goes great with orange - a perfect combo!

By drinking this golden hour mocktail you'll get these benefits:

  • Antioxidants & adaptogens

  • The natural sweetness from lucuma

  • Destressing & calming

  • Natural support for mobility from the turmeric

Inspiration For The Golden Hour Mocktail

Equally important to the benefits of this drink is where I found the inspiration. Like my other mocktails in this series, I found inspiration from the Julia Bainbridge book titled Good Drinks. While her book has great mocktails, I found many of the recipes needed too many ingredients, a syrup full of sugar, and at times, things I didn't have.

Above all, as I read the book, I wondered how I could make these recipes my own. Knowing I had a few things I wanted in my drinks, I was ready for the challenge! In reality, my wishes for the drinks were simple - be as natural as possible, contain superfoods, and be able to make in a blender.

After I had my wishes, I read through the book again and found a few mocktails I wanted to make. I highly recommend doing this with any recipe book you have at home. First, think of what you want - do you want to make it vegan, cholesterol-free, etc? Second, read your recipe book as you would a novel - get to learn what recipes are in the book. Third, find a recipe that sounds good, and think about how you can substitute ingredients and make it your own!

Substitutes For Golden Hour Mocktail

If you are like me, sometimes you don't always have all the ingredients on hand. Often I find myself getting creative in the kitchen by using substitutes for ingredients.

Below you will find my favorite substitutes for this mocktail:

  • Use honey or agave instead of maple syrup

  • Substitute golden mellow for freshly grated ginger - add it in a little bit at a time and note that you may have small bits in your drink

  • Orange - I recommend cara cara oranges - they are seedless, sweeter than regular oranges, and not too acidic

I love using superfoods in my mocktails I've dedicated an entire series to superfood mocktails!
