How My Hidden Gems Exploration In Denver West & Northwest Suburbs Started

When I visited these stores, I called them field trips. Exploring local-ish to me stores has been something I wanted to do for a long time. Considering my vacation time and the amount of time left in the year, I decided to take a few days off to shop.

In today's article, I share about a local nursery, specialty grocery stores, and a sustainable store located in the Denver West & Northwest Suburbs.

Throughout the year, I will have a few posts about Denver shopping, be sure to check them all out - maybe you too will find a hidden gem!

Sustainable Store, Specialty Grocers And More In Denver West & Northwest Suburbs

  • Echters - 5150 Garrison St, Arvada, CO 80002

    • Parking: Paved lot, many spaces

    • What's Available: Indoor/Outdoor plants, outdoor furniture, gardening supplies, pots, gifts - typical large nursery items

    • Why I Like This Shop: What isn't to love!?! A large store makes it easy to get lost in the plants. Even though the lot is packed, inside doesn't feel packed. One-stop shop for garden needs. Weed block & shade cloth by the foot, and grass seed available in bulk so I can get just enough to fill in the small bare spot in my yard.

  • Zero Market – 2501 Dallas St., Ste. 160, Aurora

    • Parking: Paved lot, many spaces, but it is located in a mall, so parking can be tight - street parking available

    • What's Available: Sustainable products, apothecary, and a few refills, such as laundry detergent

    • Why I Like This Shop: Tiny but mighty, amazing apothecary selection.

  • Taaza Mart - 15405 E Briarwood Cir Suite A, Aurora, CO 80016

    • Parking: Paved lot, many spaces, attached to a shopping center, but never had an issue with parking

    • What's Available: Spices, flours, rices & beans - just about every variety you'd need. Unique produce like sugar cane & banana flower. Also has a small cafeteria.

    • Why I Like This Shop: Amazing selection, large aisles, and many products to choose from. Fresh, frozen, dried goods, and even incense.

  • H Mart - 2751 S Parker Rd, Aurora, CO 80014

    • Parking: Paved lot, many spaces may need to park farther than you'd like

    • What's Available: unique vegetables & meats. Standard grocery items. Many options for herbs.

    • Why I Like This Shop: I can find unique meats and veggies, including many varieties of mushrooms, herbs, and freshly made foods.

  • Shamrock Foods - 2802 S Havana St, Aurora, CO 80014

    • Parking: Paved lot, many spaces, located in a shopping plaza, but I've not had an issue getting a spot
