Introducing Angie's Recipe Garden Communities!

Text: Angie's Recipe Garden Communities and various things on a table with wildflowers.

I Am SO Excited To Introduce Communities

Are you like me and find social media stressful at times? I log in to view posts from my friends, and before I know it, I've scrolled for 30+ minutes, gone down multiple rabbit holes, and am usually more irked than when I started.

The ads, the negativity, the doom scrolling - it's too much for me!

That is exactly why I created communities, right here on my blog. If being able to connect with others outside of social media sounds interesting to you, take a look at the communities I have available.

Benefits Of Angie's Recipe Garden

You may or may not have noticed that my site is ad-free. I also put the recipes at the top of the page for easy viewing.

No AI - in addition to being ad-free, this site is also free from AI. You won't find any fake images here. Though I may use staged/purchased photos from time to time when I'm unable to capture *the perfect photo*.

Everything I post is something I have made/done. Other sites aggregate recipes and tips/tricks from other sites and then bog them down with ads. Not here!

How Do I Make Money On The Blog Without Ads?

The short answer is that I don't.

When I created Angie's Recipe Garden, I created it out of frustration. Trying to view a recipe on a site and having to scroll through so much text just to have the page reload or accidentally click a video when I tried to click the X button. I was over it.

Being ad-free means I pay all the website fees and don't make and consistent revenue. I make a small amount (I made $10 total in 2024) from being an Amazon affiliate. Honestly, that doesn't even come close to covering the cost of running a site.

In late 2024 I started migrating my site from Wordpress.org to Wix.com. Wow, what a process. I believe my entire migration took 5 months. I ran into many issues, but after being migrated to Wix I have loved every minute of it. Wix makes it much easier for me to make edits to the site, set up communities, etc. Whereas with WordPress I struggled anytime my site had an issue and couldn't quickly fix or do anything.

In the end, I'm not in it for the money. While one day I hope to offer paid courses or something similar, this is never intended to be a "money maker" for me. That said, it sure would be nice to break even every year.

What Can You Do To Help Fund Angie's Site?

  1. Click an Amazon link from my site - when you click a link on my site for Amazon, I only get a (super small) commission if you check out in 24 hours or less

  2. Share my website with your friends & encourage them to join a community this will help in the future when I offer learning courses (yay!)

  3. Check out my donation page - I've got links to my Amazon Wish List and Buy Me A Coffee

  4. Become a site member - by signing up for my site you will get access to groups and be able to make comments on my posts, boosting the likelihood of someone else reading the post!

Thanks for reading, and I hope to see you in one of my communities soon!
