Ninja Yogurt Perfection: Thick, Creamy, And Easy To Make

Jar of thick homemade yogurt on a wooden surface with a spoon. Text above reads: "Extra Thick Homemade Yogurt - In A Ninja."

Why I Love This Extra Thick Ninja Yogurt

What is not to love about this extra-thick yogurt? It comes out of the Ninja thick, even before I strain out the whey! I prefer a really rich and creamy yogurt - it makes it feel like a guilty treat to me.

This extra-thick yogurt is a great substitute for sour cream - I've added this multiple times to noodle dishes when I wanted some cooling and creaminess. A few times I've even popped it in the freezer for about 30 minutes to get it a little frosty. I don't want it fully frozen, just a little frozen.

How To Easily Make Ninja Yogurt

Making Ninja yogurt doesn't get much easier. The total time is about 12 hours for the Ninja to do its magic. Generally, step one (heating the milk) takes about 3.5 hours, and step 2 takes about 8 hours.

The first time I made Ninja yogurt I started it before bed and woke up in the middle of the night - surprise! The Ninja said 8 hours, but to my surprise, it didn't take that long. Now I start my yogurt around 7 AM, and I know I have about 3.5 hours to run errands or be out of the house before I need to do something. Or, I know I can wait until after step 1 finishes and then I have all day to do whatever I need.

Ninja yogurt is definitely less hands on than the oven yogurt, but it does mean I have to sit and wait a little more.
