Why I Love Attending Virtual Summits
For starters, many of the summits I attend are free. If that's not enough, they are all virtual, and I can watch many on my own time vs. on a schedule. Summits are a great time to learn or refresh on topics you haven't thought about for a bit.
I will share my favorite virtual summits today. Some summits offer options to upgrade for a fee - I will cover that in my review! I have attended some summits that I wasn't very impressed with, which I won't be covering today.
This article was written in March of 2025, so keep that in mind as summits do change over time.
The Herbal Academy - Herbalism Conference
When I saw the Herbal Academy was having a free Herbalism Conference I was SO excited! This event was first introduced in 2025 and happened mid-to-late February.
As a matter of fact, I was so excited that I instantly purchased the VIP ticket so I could have access to all the videos, a recipe collection course, and the speaker bonuses. As I write this post in March, I still haven't had time to watch the videos or dive into the conference.
What I can say is that the kickoff call for this conference seemed pre-recorded and I didn't see anyone live in the chat from The Herbal Academy interecting. That was disappointing.
The conference had big names such as Rosemary Gladstar. This conference would be a great fit for anyone wanting to dive into learning more about how to use herbs for wellness.
To my knowledge, there was not a Facebook group for this event, but you can follow The Herbal Academy on Facebook to stay up to date with them.
Spring Gardening Summit From Audre'ys Little Farm - Learning
Audrey's Little Farm Spring Gardening Summit is probably my favorite summit. She is based in California, zone 9, but the presenters are from various zones. I don't believe any presentations were zone-specific. Rather, the presentations are general such as how to grow tomatoes. This summit is in late February.
The summit does have a social media group that is more for participants than presenters. It was nice to be able to chat with other people attending the summit and share our learnings. Audrey also has BINGO - which helps with engagement in the group as well as motivation to watch videos.
Videos are available to watch for 48 hours vs what seems to be that standard 24 hours for most of these summits. There are free downloads available, the summit is hosted off of social media and the presenters are TOP NOTCH. I remember a different summit I attended the presenters were not sharing anything new and it felt very much like a sales pitch - upgrade to the paid summit ticket or join the presenter's paid group.
Spring Gardening Summit From Audrey's Little Farm - Gardeners Success Kit
The Gardeners Success Kit is an upgrade (that I highly recommend!). New for 2025, Audrey added a summit workbook - it was 100+ pages of notes from each presentation. I got mine printed & bound at Office Max for about $35. When I say this was worth it, I mean it.
With the Gardener's Success Kit, I can re-watch the presentations as much as I want and got a bunch of additional downloads from the speakers. I also got access to a live Q&A session with Audrey, and a free 30-day access (vs the 14 days the free ticket gets you) to Audrey's Membership group. I just love Audrey- she is down to earth, answers any question, and genuinely loves to experiment and learn. Her membership is hosted on the Mighy network app and is very well organized.
Pro-tip - get the Gardeners Success Kit before the official kick-off to save some money.
The Great Grow Along - Inspiration & Learning
The Great Grow Along is a three-weekend event in March that claims to be the largest gardening festival in the world. The summit is 100% free, and you do not need to sign up for anything—WOW, what a bonus—not having to give out my email!
The presenters are informative and there is a chat available. The videos themselves have been pre-recorded, but the chat is live. The presenters are in the chat answering questions, and then they have a Q&A where they also answer questions from the chat. There is also a live feed that you can just join once and catch all the presentations as they happen!
They have a neat option to easily add the full calendar to Google - so I could toggle the calendar on and off as well as see the exact times for each presentation. You can find it on their FAQ page under "Session start times are listed in Eastern time zone, how can I see in my own?" or use this link.
To my knowledge, there is no social media group for the festival, giveaways, or handouts for The Great Grow Along. You can follow The Great Grow Along on Facebook to keep up to date with them.
The Great Grow Along - Past Events
I found something cool on the Great Grow Along site - a way to search previous presentations! Again, this is 100% free and you do not need to enter an email or anything to access.
Definitely take advantage of this amazing resource.
Using the search is a little tricky - I was able to easily find "container" but not "calendula" for example. My recommendation would be to take a look at the current year's agenda and or write down the presentations you are most interested in. That way you can easily search for the presentation whenever you want to watch or re-watch.
I found that only the search feature works, clicking on the categories up top goes nowhere. See the screenshot for the search feature.

Herbal Solutions Summit From Joybilee Farm
First introduced in 2024, the Herbal Solutions Summit will be an annual event in early October. If you want to increase your herbal knowledge this summit is made for you! Learn about what to grow, how to make herbal remedies, and learn to share your remedies with others.
The summit is hosted off of social media but included a Facebook group for interaction and BINGO. This one the videos were live for 24 hours.
Herbal Solutions Summit From Joybilee Farm - All Access Pass
This was the first summit I bought an upgraded ticket. With the upgraded ticket I received lifetime access to the videos, speaker bonuses, and PDF notes & implementation steps for every presentation. I also got to attend 2 co-working sessions with Joybilee Farm and other attendees to work on our herbal goals. It was so nice to have time set aside to think about how I wanted to use my new knowledge.
One thing that stood out to me with the upgraded ticket was the ability to use a chat feature called Sage. Sage is a chatbot that allows me to enter something like "how to grow basil" and it will return answers from the presenters! Personally, I can remember "I heard XYZ" but I can't remember which presentation - Sage helps me with that.
The summit page is very well organized. Follow Joybilee Farm on Facebook to keep up to date with them!
Angie's Pro Tips For Summits
Before ending this post, I wanted to be sure to share my tips for making the summits successful for you!
See if the summit has a Facebook page or another way to interact & join the conversation.
Review the summit information before it starts - this is the best time to come up with a plan and buy the paid ticket to save some money.
Come up with a plan - how long do you have to watch the videos (the standard is 24 hours) choose which videos you want to watch. Do you have enough time every day to watch the ones you want?
To upgrade or not to upgrade - if there are more than 25% of presentations that look interesting to you, I would take a look at what is being offered with the paid ticket and decide if you want to upgrade. Generally, you get a cost savings if you upgrade before the event starts!
I have been able to use PayPal's pay-in-four feature - it's 4 equal payments every 2 weeks - this helps reduce the burden of the ticket! Check to see if that's an option at checkout.
I hope to see you at one of these summits - let me know in the comments which one(s) you will attend. If you have any other questions I am happy to answer the best I can!
