Why I Love Homemade Yogurt

I've been making yogurt for about a year and have a few reasons why I like making my homemade yogurt. In recent years I've seen more and more recalls on foods here in the USA. For example, lettuce is recalled for listeria. My preference is to reduce the risks of contamination as much as possible, which generally leads me to make my food.

First, I know exactly what is going into my yogurt. I have less risk of listeria in my yogurt due to making it in my home.

Secondly, I reduce waste. No more plastic containers from the store - after my yogurt is ready, I simply place it in a glass jar. This also reduces contamination from plastic.

Finally, the cost of my yogurt is cheaper than buying yogurt from the store. If I don't include the cost of my electricity or the minimal time it takes, my cost of yogurt is $0.03 compared to $0.26 for store-bought yogurt.

In this series, you will learn how quick and easy homemade yogurt is to make!

What To Expect From This Homemade Yogurt Series

My 4-part yogurt series will cover how to make yogurt in an oven, and two recipes for making yogurt in a ninja pressure cooker.

I will also share my yogurt journey over the last year. Where did I start, what inspired me, and how often I make yogurt.

For the next 4 weeks, there will be a post a week for this series!

Share your excitement about my new series in the comments below.
