A Healthier Chocolate Sauce That Will Complete Your Next Dessert!

Text: a healthier chocolate sauce and photo of chocolate sauce on spoon

Why I Love This Chocolate Sauce

When I was looking for a healthier chocolate sauce I was shocked by how full of processed things the recipes were! I recently made a caramel sauce, which is where my inspiration for this recipe comes from!

The best part of this chocolate sauce is that it contains superfoods. I was able to skip the processed white sugar, corn syrup, and any additional processed chocolate! Knowing I have a healthier chocolate sauce allows me to eat this guilt-free, and I love topping my lattes, cookies & even bliss balls.

Why Is This A Healthier Chocolate Sauce?

First and foremost, my recipe contains only 5 ingredients. I was able to avoid white sugar and corn syrup as well as not add any processed chocolate. There's also no heat needed! Just mix the ingredients and you are ready to use the sauce. I do find that allowing the sauce to sit overnight produces a more smooth texture.

I also love that magic mushroom is included and it brings an additional depth of flavor and spice with the cinnamon. In addition, it brings adaptogenic mushrooms and ashwagandha which helps manage stress and kicks in when you need it most.

Let's break down the ingredients

  • Coconut Sugar - contains zinc, iron & antioxidants

  • Maple Syrup - lower glycemic index than regular sugar, and is sweeter than sugar, so we can use less!

  • Non-Dairy Milk - adds a little creaminess as well as thins the sauce

  • Magic Mushroom - adaptogenic and supports natural defense system

  • Salt - brings the sauce together and balances the sweetness
